AgeChecker Installation Types
AgeChecker supplies two installation types/workflows to choose from depending on your business and needs.
After-Order - This workflow prompts the customer for their date of birth on the cart page, and then performs the full age verification after an order has been submitted. This method is recommended as the age verification only occurs for paid customers, and will use the customer's billing information for the verification. The "verified" tag within the order information indicates that the customer's age has been successfully verified and should be confirmed before shipment. If the order information does not include this tag, the order should not be fulfilled.
Cart - This workflow prompts AgeChecker on the cart page, and will perform the full age verification at this step before navigating to the checkout page. It will not allow the customer to check out until they have satisfied your website's minimum age requirement. If we find that the customer is underage, or if they do not complete the age verification process, they will not be directed to the checkout page to finish their order. Keep in mind since this process occurs before the checkout page, the verification will not be synced up with the order's billing information, and will verify based on the information manually entered into the popup by the customer.
If you are on Shopify Plus, you can have the full age verification process on the last step of the checkout page to utilize the billing info for the verification and block orders from customers who didn't satisfy your website's minimum age requirement.
